Can you fit 3 carseats in a ford focus

I'm registering as a childminder and will have 3 children to fit in the car. Have already tried it and can fit our 2 ff seats and an infant carrier in the back safely but my youngest is coming up for a year and is rapidly outgrowing the carrier in both height and weight. I will have a 3 year old, 18month old and a 1 year old. Anyone fitted 3 seats in the back of their focus. I don't currently have the capacity to turn the air bag off but looking to get the lock fitted to be able to do this.

See last answer. You could try keeping the youngest one rear facing. If one of the seats was the opposite way round to the others you're not going to have the backs of three child seats all pushing together across the back seat. This second generation of the Ford Focus is inches long and 68 inches wide, or 4 inches narrower than the third generation Focus. Tips and Tricks: This generation of the Ford Focus is inches long and 72 inches wide in the sedan version and inches long in the hatchback version, making it very similar to the current generation Ford Escape in its 3 across capabilities. You don't have to be one of them. In a booster, the child's life is in their own hands. Please read the FAQ booster section and watch the videos. Also re think the travel system idea. Travel system strollers tend to be bulky and cheap and their infant seats are usually the lower end models. I would check out the Safety 1st OnBoard35 Air. Best infant seat under the sun.

Then find a stroller that lay flatter for a newborn. Babies really shouldn't be in the car seat when they aren't in the car. You need to put your 3 yr old in a harness seat not just because it is very dangerous to have a 3 yr old who is under 40 lbs in a booster seat, but also because it will be next to impossible to fit 2 booster seats and a infant seat in a Focus.

We are also doing a 3 across in a Ford Focus come May and we could fit 1 booster seat and be able to buckle it but not 2. We have the narrowest convertible seat narrower then all booster seats , a very narrow infant seat, and a narrow booster seat and it is still a pain to buckle the booster.

We are actually choosing to use our Radian in harness mode for our oldest even though he old enough and mature enough to sit in a booster just to make it easier.

Many of the seats then were outgrown by the time a child was 3 years old or so. Now there are lots more options available making it a very unsafe choice to put a 3 yo in a booster. I know the expense of a new seat for the 3 yo might not be something you'd planned on, but it's still cheaper than a new car. I got 3 across in my Taurus, but I'm so bad at knowing the size of cars. It harnesses till 65 and has Splash New member.

If you put your daughter in the center and your son outboard rear facing, you should be able to get a narrow infant seat or another narrow convertible like another Intera next to it. Plus the Intera is actually a pretty good booster as well the only 3 n 1 seat that is worth anything.

Burn that Alpha Omega!! The Scenera is also a good bargain seat that rear faces to 35 pounds and FF to 40, but it is wider than the Intera made by Safety 1st by the way and has lower top slots, so I think the Intera is a better deal for you. The Intera your daughter could use as a booster in a less used car or when riding with friends after your son outgrows it.

Or you could get a Radian for your son as well. But I am betting that by the time he is 40 pounds, you already have your new van and your daughter can have a Regent and your son can move into the Radian.

I agree with Splash--Radian for the oldest and an Intera for the middle child. Hopefully another Intera would fit for the baby, or an infant seat, but if not--consider a RideSafer travel vest or E-Z-On harness for the oldest and put her in the center. I would get a Radian for each older kid and a Graco Safe Seat 1 for the baby to go in the middle. That way you can just put the baby in the seat and then plop it in the base and not have to actually buckle anyone in the middle spot, which would be a hard reach.

Any infant seat would work but if the safe seat fits then it would last the longest, probably for a year and hopefully you could get a van then. And not have to figure out new seats when the baby outgrows a normal infant seat at 6 months. Rachel cpst. AutumnMama New member. I'd love to get DS rearfacing again, I'm just not sure how long lbs will last though..

I decided to just register I've made half a dozen posts here already and I'd like to be able to edit if I need to What about using the Comfort Sport for the new baby? I'm just asking because it's about 17" wide, while the Intera is 19" wide, and the Radian is 17" wide.

Since I would probably be putting the Radian in the middle and the two RF seats outboard, they might be able to overlap a bit.
