How is witch doctor in inferno

I have heard about the zombie bear build and tried it myself. Choosing all the mana regen passives and spamming zombie bears for high damage. However I didn't care for it much for 3 reasons: -you miss out on other great passives and have to keep your other skills on cooldown.

Gear: I focus on gear that gives you both intelligence and vitality. Act 1 inferno is pretty forgiving on gear and stats but before you go into Act 2, you want to aim for at least 30k health and 20k DPS. Buy a nice weapon off the AH if you need to. Do Act 1 Nephalem Valor farm runs if you need some cash. My gear as of May 24th youtube link, use HD to see items.

Follower: I use the Templar as a follower. His heals are quite usual in most situations even though his aggro is absolute crap.

Just stack his gear with as much strength as you can get for some extra DPS. His skills: Heal - basic heal with 15s cooldown Loyalty - extra life regeneration Charge - does a nice 3 second stun Guardian - heals you and knocks back enemies when you are low health Champions and Rares: A few people have be asking how to deal with certain champs in inferno. There are some champs with affixes that just seem impossible to do.

Off the top of my head these are the ones that I feel need explaining.. Fast - I generally skip fast champs. Simply because they are impossible to kite and will just run up to you and 1-shot you.

Some champs like skeletons in Act 1 move so slow that even with the Fast affix they are still kite-able so it's possible to do those. Invulnerable Minions - My most hated affix.

I will instantly skip these rares since my main strategy is to pick off the minions then focus on the rare himself which is pretty easy with the Hex skill. Trying to only damage the rare and avoid his minions at the same time is too much of a headache and very hard to do with Poison Darts. Mortarr - Do-able but takes some practice. It's simple a combination of shooting Poison Dart once then moving back, shooting, moving, shooting, moving etc.

It will generally take a while to kill them so put down Grasp constantly and try to line up a nice Pile On. I tend to try and keep the champs a little bit off-screen which seems to be out of range for them to use Mortar.

Use Spirit Walk for emergencies. Illusionist - Do-able but kind of annoying. Just kite them regularly though Grasp and use Darts and Zombies to damage. If they move too fast to kite them just skip them. Jailer and Waller - Spirit Walk Although you can't use Spirit Walk to run through the walls, you can just use it to run through the monsters and kite them the other way.

Teleport - I've found that if the champs are a bit off-screen they won't teleport to you. So just spam Darts and hope they hit. If they do teleport to you then just Spirit Walk away. However I have found that some champs with teleport are almost impossible to do. Vortex - Same strategy as Teleport. Not much of an explanation necessary, kill adds asap and avoid his swirling swing.

In the video I was quite overgeared for the fight 23k DPS so you probably won't kill him as fast a I did. Queen Araneae: A pretty straightforward fight. She only really has one attack, spitting poison in melee range. She will charge you and use the attack so just move out of range Spirit Walk if you have to.

She also spits spiderwebs at you which slow you down. You can just walk out of these if you have time or use Spirit Walk to remove the snare.

Xoxie Diabloii. Wicked post - still tryin to get over the idea of losing my Garg and shield for a mojo and more kiting.

Xoxie said:. MuleskinnerLU Diabloii. Yea the Garg is completely useless to me in Inferno Act2. I brought him out and he gets 1 shotted lol so that move gets swapped out rather quickly. Hellmoon said:. Well in A2, in any difficulty, your pets die very quickly because of the stupid wasps mostly, but especially in inferno Act 2 damage just gets scaled through the roof.

While something may hit you or your gargantuan for k in Act 1, in Act 2 that number is doubled, tripled or quadrupled- so your pet dies in a matter of seconds.

Thus kiting ends up as the best alternative for solo play. Huxly Diabloii. That's actually close to the build I use. The only difference are mainly in rune choices. Also right now Spirit Vessel has been beating out Pierce the Veil for my third passive slot. Having an extra 3 seconds to try and burst down a mob or second chance on a boss during an oops moment beats out some extra damage. Overall I'm kind of happy with the way the WD has turned out unless you really wanted to play a summoner build.

No major complaints so far, only minor quality of life stuff. Sir Mister Diabloii. Yea I love both bears and bats, both are a little frustrating because sometimes they don't do what you want them to. I hope they do something though, the difficulty is fine, but what isn't is the fact that Act 1 inferno gear can't get you through Act 2 or at least a good bit into Act 2 and that you basically have to try to farm gear for people just entering Act 1 inferno so you can buy Act gear to progress Sceadu Diabloii.

So does this mean that you are constantly changing your skills as you're going through and thus losing any stacks of NV? I believe the point of this thread is more for trying to clear inferno than it is for farming inferno. You're right that you don't want to be switching skills while farming. Rots Diabloii. The three builds provided are NOT the only way to clear inferno.

People who say otherwise have probably not fully explored the Witch Doctor. Don't get into the mindset that you have to follow a cookie cutter build. I tried all three of these builds and did not find Zombie Bears or Dire Bats to be very fast or efficient for progressing. I personally solo'd Inferno up to Diablo using Snakes to Face and Wall of Zombies and found it to be extremely fun and effective.

I did tweaked the build here and there for certain bosses. Don't be discouraged if you have a build you really like! The gearing section of the main post is really good though, props. Chaosmage Diabloii. It has the advantage that you can leave spirit walk off cooldown since while not moving you will use grasp anyway.

The margin is slim but at least that prevents situations where every skill comes out of cooldown one after the other and you just have barely enough mana to recast them. I have no idea if you are able to kill belial with it but there isn't any other build which comes to mind which would give an advantage, change grave injustice for jungle fort of course. Last edited: Jun 3, Act 2 last night and completely realized how much I depended in him Those wasps are ok for me but death for him I'm having issues with those jumping lionesses Well I switched out Garg for grasp and find that I'm actually having a mana issue.

Here is a guide to help you and your army of zombies cut out the corruption that still infects the land. Note: This guide is based off of Patch 1. Recommended skills and stat allocations are likely to change in future patches.

Note: Make sure elective mode is toggled on so you are not limited to one skill per category. To do this go to Options, select Gameplay, and toggle on Elective Mode. It travels a great distance and continues through enemies. This is your main offensive spell and should be promoted to the almighty left mouse click. Grasp of the Dead That very first skill you unlocked at level 2 is oh so important for your demonic decimation. Use the Unbreakable Grasp rune to slow enemies 80 percent.

Once the grasp lets up, cast it again. Appoint this to your right mouse click. Spirit Walk Hands down, this is the best ability this class has access to. The increased movement speed and invulnerability will get you out of sudden danger.

Use the Jaunt rune for three additional seconds of spirit time. Soul Harvest Paired with Sprit Walk, this ability will consistently boost your damage with its Intelligence boost. Soul To Waste is our rune of choice, granting an additional 30 seconds of buff time. Big Bad Voodoo This aura offers a 20 percent attack speed boost most effective against bosses or elite packs.
